USS 'Lake Erie', a guided-missile cruiser of the United States Navy, arrived at the Port of Colombo on a post relief mission Sunday (11th June).
According to Navy media sources the visiting US ship was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Sri Lanka Navy upon its arrival at the Port of Colombo.
The ship had arrived to the country for a 14 day visit. The crew of USS 'Lake Erie' is expected to engage in post relief work in disaster affected areas of the country.
Several training engagements and HA/DR drills are also scheduled to be carried. The ship is scheduled to leave the country on 25th June.
