Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Association and the Pharmaceutical Traders Association have pledged their full support to reducing of prices on 48 drugs.
They said they are ready to sell drugs at the reduced prices. The drug importing companies have not taken over the drug stocks and issued stocks at the new prices.
Chairman National Medicine Regulatory Authority Prof. Asitha De silva said that on the advice of Health Minister Rajitha Senaratna they will discuss the issue with drug importers.
Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Association is of the view that drug companies too should get involved in this exercise.
Meanwhile 22 Osusala outlets belonging to the State Pharmaceutical Corporation from Monday is issuing drugs at the revised prices.
