Media Accreditation Unit

This unit was introduced in the year 1984. The role of this unit is to issue an identity card by the government for local and foreign journalists in Sri Lanka. Journalists from recognized media organizations in Sri Lanka will have the opportunity to obtain this identity card through this unit. A temporary media ID is issued according to the number of days of the visa for journalists coming from abroad with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
